The Kim Lab (a.k.a. the Kimmunity Lab) is pioneering the next generation of “smart” RNA vaccines and therapeutics that can adapt to their biological environment to maximize efficacy and safety. We combine materials science, immunology, and synthetic biology to design RNA constructs and delivery systems capable of controlled, context-dependent expression. Through high-throughput screening, mechanistic studies, and rational design, we aim to overcome key barriers to RNA transfection and controlled immune activation. Our ultimate goal is to translate these discoveries into transformative therapies for cancer and other diseases.
